3 virtual Santa visits and experiences this Christmas 2020

Christmas 2020 will be all about so-ho-ho-ho-cially distanced experiences but that doesn’t mean they need to be any less magical. Santa himself is pulling out all the stops to make sure he spreads festive cheer to as many families as possible this year. While the usual grottos may be impossible this winter you can still have virtual Santa visits and socially distanced experiences with Father Christmas and his elves.

Looking for other UK Christmas events to enjoy with your family in 2020? There’s plenty of socially distanced festive days out and Christmas pantomimes happening around the country (subject to the latest government guidance).

Visit Finland is arranging a series of special Christmas broadcasts on its YouTube channel. During these broadcasts Santa will read messages sent to him by boys and girls from across the world.

Anyone can ask Santa to relay their message a loved one by writing it down for him. Santa will go through all the messages before selected a limited number to read. He is expecting to get through about 80 messages during his broadcasts between 7 and 13 December 2020.

Write your message to Santa by 29 November for a chance to have yours read out.

There will also be a chance to meet Santa live on Visit Finland’s channels at 6pm on 11 December. You can also apply for a private one-on-one session with Santa!

It’s free to submit your message to Santa and apply for a one-to-one session. Spaces are limited.

Santa usually welcomes hundreds of families to Lapland each year for a magical winter experience. However, 2020 will be quite different.

Not wanting to disappoint families, Santa has been working on his technical know-how to set up video calls direct from his home in actual Lapland!

You’ll be led through the Lapland snow and see a reindeer up close before going live to Santa’s Cabin and speaking with Santa himself.

Prices start from £85 per family. This includes a personalised video call experience of up to 15 minutes, for a maximum of four children per call.
