  1. Hi only just booked a 15 day cruise around the Caribbean islands on p & o shop from Barbados on 18th February this year can anyone tell me if we need a visa? It’s our first time cruise and real novices and although the cruise rep who I booked it with did her best to give me all details but nothing was mentioned at time of booking and it wasn’t until the confirmation arrived that I noticed that we ‘may’ need visas?? would appreciate any help or maybe a direct link?? Tia Marilyn

  2. I have an on board value to spend – can you use this towards a drinks package to bring the price down going on the Azura for New Year

    1. Hi Alexi, this is a question to ask P&O direct as I don’t know the answer myself. I suspect you may have to buy the package onboard rather than in advance so that it is added to your onboard account where you have the credit. Please check in advance. The customer service team is always very helpful.

  3. Hi Claire, this is really very helpful, thank you. We are going on the Christmas 35 night to Carribbean, for that length of time would it be better to pay as we go and do we have to then add gratuities?

    1. Hi Eve, I’m glad you’ve found this post helpful. P&O don’t charge gratuities or a service charge on top of the price of your drinks, so there’s no extra cost to paying as you go. So, it all comes down to whether you’ll make the most of the £39.99 per day. Have a great cruise! Claire

  4. Hi .. if I am on a 15 day cruise and we don’t get on ship until late .Can I buy the drinks package the next day on board .As paying £80 on arrival night will be a waste .Is this possible

  5. I am known to like a glass of wine or maybe two! but I will definitely not buy a drinks package. Have really enjoyed reading about your adventures. Very informative, thank you.

  6. Hi, great review there, Thankyou.
My husband is tea total but I enjoy a few drinks when I’m on holiday, we’re definitely not going to buy an ultimate drinks package each, that would be financial suicide, so we decided we may buy an adults non alcoholic package each and I can purchase the odd cocktail or other beverage as and when. Does the non alcoholic beer come in as part of the non alcoholic drinks package please? I guess by reading your review that non alcoholic beers are chargeable? I look forward to your reply. Thankyou.

    1. Hi Bev, you’d need to double check with P&O for the definitive answer but I think non-alcoholic beers/ciders/spirits would come under the category of ‘premium soft drinks’ as they often cost as much as the alcoholic versions. This means you’d get a 20% off them with your non-alcoholic package. I hope that helps, but like I say, please do check with P&O to be sure. Claire.

  7. Hi Claire really helpful information thanks. Just a quick question if i have the full drinks package is the limit of 15 drinks a day alcoholic only or does this include drinks in total ie- coffee soft drinks etc. i’m a first time cruiser, go on a Caribbean cruise end of November this year on the Britannia am leaning toward the drinks package.

    1. Hi Mark, glad you found this helpful. When we cruised in 2019/20 the 15 drinks included all drinks in the package – alcoholic or not. You also have tea and coffee in your cabin and the tea, coffee and water available when you dine. I hope that helps. Claire

  8. Great review, thank you. Could I ask, if you have a rum is the mixer included let’s say out the dispenser or do you have to buy a mixer aswell?

    1. Hi Russell, if you are ordering a rum and coke and don’t have the drinks package it’s just the same as if you were in a pub in the UK – you pay for both parts of your drink. If you have the drinks package and order a rum and coke then both parts are included in your single drink.

  9. Fantastic detailed information if you are thinking of buying a Drinks Package on a P & O cruise. Thank you
