Our love for camping holidays in Europe

For the past three years we have visited the continent to stay at holiday parks where we have enjoyed all the benefits of luxury camping. Since our very first stay at Yelloh! Village Pin Parasol in the Vendée in France we have been completely hooked on this type of family holiday in Europe.

Incredible swimming pools and water parks

The thing my girls loved most about our stay at Le Pin Parasol in the Vendée in France were the swimming pools and water park complex. There was a splash area for tiny tots, an indoor pool for cooler days, a large swimming pool where plenty of games and activities took place during the day, plus three water slides.

This is a major feature of every Yelloh! Village holiday park whether you’re camping in France, Spain or Portugal. 

Al Fresco dining

Self-catering has always worked well for us when holidaying with the kids. It’s more relaxed than set meal times and means we can have fridge packed with snacks whenever the girls get hungry. Each Yelloh! Village campsite has a shop for topping up your camping supplies.

However, it’s also lovely to have the option of eating out. Every barbecue chef needs a break!

Yelloh! Village campsites have restaurants so you can dine out. And we’re not just talking burgers and chips. You can sample local specialities on a terrace over-looking a country or coast view.

Kids clubs and family activities

Something that my girls were too young for during our first Yelloh! Village holiday was the kids club. But some holiday villages have play areas designed specifically for little ones up to the age of four.

From five-years-old your kids can join in with workshops, crafts, games and sports laid on by the entertainment team. Plus, there’s a juniors club for eight to 12-year-olds and a teens club for 13 to 17-year-olds.

We don’t like to over-use kids clubs because holidays are mainly about family time. But there are some days when even mums and dads need a break. Plus the kids want to have fun with friends their own age and the well-run kids clubs like you’ll find at Yelloh! Village allow them to do this.

There’s also a programme of family activities and entertainment throughout the day. Many Yelloh! Village holiday villages even have gyms and spas for parents to take advantage of while the children are off having their own fun. You can even take part in adventurous activities.

The great thing about vacationing with a large holiday village company is that you know you’re going to get the same quality accommodation, entertainment and activities across its holiday parks.
