  1. What a helpful and detailed account! As someone considering an international move with a pet, the ‘fluffy’ details about airport logistics are exactly what I’ve been searching for—official guidelines never cover the emotional rollercoaster of handing your dog over at security. Your tip about AirTags is genius for peace of mind, and I’ll be double-checking crate sizes with the airline after reading your experience. Tin Box Dog is one lucky pup to have such thorough humans! Thanks for sharing this—it’s a goldmine for pet owners navigating the chaos of relocation.

  2. i was wondering regarding the titer blood test you mentioned you had to do a second one but arent you suppose to travel after 3 month from the titer test ?

    1. Hi, I’m not sure if the rules have changed since we moved abroad in 2022 (check with your vet for the latest pet export and import rules for different destinations). But at the time we travelled the results of the titer test just needed to show our dog had had her rabies vaccination before we flew. It can take weeks for antibodies to show up in the titer test results so it is essential to schedule the vaccination well ahead of the test and when you need to travel.

  3. We had the worst nightmare bringing a dog form pakistan to Heathrow uk my sister brought her toy shitzu from pakistan the way we been treated by the clearance pet service and airport was disgusting. Now we r due back to go back to our home and again the night mare for travel start

    1. Hi Emilie, we flew to Oman in December. I am aware from speaking to other people who have flown their dogs here that it might not be possible in the summer months. It’s best to speak to your airline to find out about their pet transport operations during the summer. I hope that helps. Claire
