My pre-baby bucket list
As all seasoned mummies know, there are a few pieces of advice that people give you before you welcome your first little darling into the world that you really should heed. Top of the list are: sleep now; put your feet up; and enjoy a hot cuppa while you can.
But did I listen to any of these pearls of wisdom? No. Oh, what I would do now to wind back the clock and enjoy a few more afternoon naps ahead of Tin Box Tot’s arrival…sigh!
With less than three months to go until Tin Box Baby 2’s due date and seven weeks until I start my maternity leave, I’ve decided to make a list of the things I plan to do before I become a mum of two.
Here’s my pre-baby bucket list:

Go for a spa day
Work treated me to a spa voucher at Christmas, so I have booked myself into the Grand Harbour Spa in Southampton a few weeks before I go on maternity leave. TBT will be having a ‘daddy day’ while I wallow in the pool and enjoy a facial. Fantastic!
Get away in the caravan
Before I get too big to fit through Tin Box’s door I want to enjoy a few more weekends away. Despite the damp weather we’ve ready started and have more trips planned in the next few months. Expect a few posts about our caravan adventures in the weeks to come.
Brave an NCT nearly new sale
Sort out the baby’s wardrobe
Bring order to some cupboards
Get ahead with blogging
When TBT was born I felt utterly disorientated. I remember stressing for days just about writing a ‘hello, our baby is here’ post on Facebook’ – not at all like me. So just in case I suffer a similar brain-fart this time round I want to draft a few timeless posts that I can publish at the click of a button. Hopefully, button clicking will not be beyond me, but who knows!

Ooh I LOVE an NCT sale. Last year I offered them a review/blog post in return for early access (before it opened to the public) It was FAB! 🙂 Thanks for linking up to #TheList x
I cut short my last pre-baby spa day to go to a breastfeeding workshop. Well worth it but I wish they hadn't clashed. I've made sure I have a clear day this time 🙂
Ha! I'm a firm believer that spa days are not just for mums, they are good for the baby too. Your husband wouldn't want to deny his unborn child a little pampering now would he? 😉
Good luck with your list! I had a spa day toward the end of both pregnancies and it was blissful – such a lovely way to unwind and enjoy some time for yourself before your little one arrives – would definitely recommend 🙂
Oh I want to do all of these as well! Except can you believe I've never been in a caravan? I'm missing out here. Now, if I give you my husband's number, can you encourage him to allow me a spa day too? 🙂 Hope you check off all of the above! Mim @ http://www.mamamim.com #mummymonday
Yes, I'm kind of expecting baby 2 will not get the same attention. I will make sure we have a few easy meals at the ready, but wish we had a bigger freezer! 🙂
I think you missed the bit about this being baby 2 – our peace and quiet days are long behind us already 🙂
I wish I'd made more meals for the freezer before baby 2 was born, as there was so much less help from family and friends than after baby 1. I found myself up and cooking dinner way too soon!!
I just wished that I had had time to do some of this! I was too busy working as much as I could before baby got here! One thing I can say is really cherish the last days of just you and daddy! And enjoy the peace and quiet!

Visiting from #mummymonday 🙂
You must get the spa day booked. I had an amazing pregnancy massage first time round. I couldn't get that this time as qualified person isn't available on the day I'm going, but I might look into getting one another time x
It's done and I can't wait. I'll be napping by the pool 🙂 x
Ooh, eBay is a good idea for the buggy board. Thanks for the tip 🙂
I've got a few weeks off between work and my due date, so I fully intend to get in a lot of snooze time/blog drafting then 🙂
There is something about baby #2 – I certainly feel a lot more relaxed about things second time round. However, after reading another blog this morning I am feeling an urge to get my hospital bag packed now 🙂
Ooh, I'm jealous of your energy! It really is a toss up between going all out and enjoying yourself or getting some rest. A bit of both is the best option. Either way, you'll always wish for a few minutes more of one or the other in a few months 😉
Thank you! I managed to slip a little snooze into my Saturday afternoon, so it's going well so far! 🙂
Mr Tin Box is pretty good at cooking. I can't deny it – he does it more than me. But stocking up the freezer is a must for days when neither of us will be able to string a sentence together, let alone order take out 🙂
Loved this!! It's so true about enjoying that time before first baby arrives, it's never the same aftEr that haha!!
I've still got a while to go but would definitely like to get a spa day in too!!
I also was absolutely rubbish with any form of technology straight after I had Arthur, the idea of having some posts ready is definitely a good one!!! Xx
Yes sleep, sleep, sleep! Oh, and a spa day sounds fab! You must book that in asap! x
Good list, definitely a good plan to get things organised before baby arrives as things are certainly a bit all over the place when they are here! I have to admit I have never braved a nearly new sale, we got our buggy board and bits from ebay! Thanks for linking with #MaternityMondays xx
Good list, and would be such an achievement to get it all done. the spa day is definitely a must!! I've never braved a nearly new sale either but actually selling at one in a few weeks time! Good idea to get a few blog posts up and ready so your not too MIA! Make sure you enjoy some time relaxing and sleeping before the baby comes! Thanks for linking up #MummyMonday xx
I was so unorganized with my second.Only got car seat down from the attic 1 day before we went home. So far I haven't found anything that I should have done first apart from that. #mummymonday
We have 3 months to go and we are trying to go on as many dates/trips to places a baby wont be suited to like the cinema as possible! People tell me to sleep but I'd rather enjoy my energy while I have it still!
Not long to go now! Enjoy your time in the run up and enjoy that extra sleep while it's on offer x
Definitely the cinema, its so mundane I hate arranging babysitting for it but I love it when I go!
Food. My husband is not the best in the kitchen so I need to get ahead with freezer meals or we will be eating pasta and takeaway!

That's a good one. I never really thought about how hard it would be just arranging to go to the cinema after having kids! 🙂
Gone to the theatre. Peppa Pig Live doesn't count.
