10 signs you’re ready for Spring
I love the winter months: snuggling under a thick duvet; feeling the crunch of frost under my feet; and not worrying too much about eating lots of chocolate – after all, you need a bit of extra padding to keep warm, right?
However, there comes a point when taking half an hour to get the family appropriately dressed before you can leave the house starts to wear thin.
I am ready for Spring! Now that Christmas is out the way I can think of so many reasons why the lighter days can’t come quick enough. How many of these sound familiar?
10 signs you’re ready for Spring:
- Your hands are so dry they resemble the gnarly branches of an ancient oak tree.
- The lingering smell of stale Christmas dinner in your house is making you feel queezy.
- You have started to collect travel brochures and trawl websites to plan your summer break.
- Your skin looks so dull you are seriously considering visiting that dodgy looking tanning shop round the corner.
- You are starting to feel ashamed that you haven’t been bothered to repaint your toe-nails since November.
- You’re fed up of being blinded by the low sun every time you hit the road in daylight.
- You long to replace sausage and mash dinners with a light and healthy salad – that’s serious stuff!
- You can’t resist the ‘have I wet myself, oh no, it’s OK’ feeling of the heated car seat – even for a five minute journey.
- Your Wellington boots have been caked in mud for so long that you’ve forgotten what colour they are.
- The novelty of a hot chocolate in front of the fire has worn off and you’d much prefer a G&T in the garden.

G&T yes please!!
Number 11. You want to fill your house with yellow flowers!! 🙂 great post

Kids and hats – argh! Either they don't fit for more than a week or they end up covered in mud from being thrown on the floor every minute. Staples are the way forward 😉 x
No probs. Thanks for a great linky and for sharing. Now roll on the summer 🙂
Ahh, I'll be cursing my post-baby weight when summer comes. That's when operation skinny Tin Box Traveller begins 🙂
Oh yes, I love winter but all the clothes are a pain and I am fed up of trying to keep Baby's hat on her head. It needs to be spring, before I resort to stapling it on! Thanks so much for linking up to #TheList x
This is fantastic I am definitely ready for spring and I think I have done all these or it has happened and I am 100% ready!!! Thank you for linking up to Share With Me #sharewithme
I don't want spring to come until I've lost some weight, lol! Seriously with you on number one though, my hands are like sandpaper!

Stodge is a favourite in our house too. Salad only happens under extreme circumstances and must include pasta and meat! 🙂
Ooh, I miss a Baileys in a coffee. I think that's acceptable all year round 😉 x
Autumn is my favourite time of year, but once Christmas has gone that's it, I'm bored of dark nights and mornings. I can relate to most of the things on your list apart from the Salad – I love stodge too much. I enjoyed reading your list! #thelist
Ha ha great yes my skin is looking pasty and i have been putting baileys in my nighttime coffee x
I know, I've started to notice that as well. Hurray! I can't wait for the clocks to change, even though it means getting up a bit earlier.
Show off 😉 However, I know what you mean about it being nice to have a few cooler days when it has been super hot. Luckily, it's a bit milder here at the moment – 12 degrees. Maybe we can arrange a blogger exchange? 🙂
If only the one around the corner from me wasn't painted bright orange outside, I might have more confidence in it! 🙂 x
Oooh, barbecue – yum! I got a bit fed up of them by the end of last summer, but I'd kill for a burger with cheese and coleslaw right now. They are never the same in a frying pan! 🙂
I'm with you on the cold sunny days! 🙂
Cannot wait for spring. The only saving grace at the moment is that the days are getting just a little bit longer. #thelist
I live in Australia so we are in the midst of summer here at the moment. We've finally had a few cooler days, but I am glad that where I live doesn't get super cold. I can't handle the cold at all!
Lol yes I'm almost tempted by the dodgy tanning shop-almost! X
Brilliant – and I totally agree with you! My hands are awful at the moment, so I'm glad I'm not the only one! And some BBQ weather with a G&T sounds the dream. Come on Spring!!
I love the cold sunny days – which have been few and far between – but I'm aching for my Saltwater sandals and painted toenails now 😉
