Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park review

Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park review

Sharing is caring!

For a little while now I’ve been feeling like the only mum on Earth not to have taken their toddler to Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park.

It’s not as though I have a good excuse. Tin Box Tot is rapidly heading towards the big three, is Peppa mad and we live just 40 minutes away. Parenting fail! That was until earlier this month when we visited with friends.

Most of our family days out so far have revolved around farms, play parks and walks – what I class as good wholesome fun that doesn’t cost a pretty penny. I think this was also part of my reluctance to go see Peppa Pig. At £93 for a family of four (in 2015) it’s quite a large expense for a day.

However, I also believe in special treats every now and again, and we knew Tot would be excited to meet her hero. Plus at 93cm, she went free.

Our visit to Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park

We booked our tickets the night before and were able to go straight to the park entrance.

When we got there we found out that one of the girls who we’d paid for could walk under the one meter bar so we were able to get a free ticket for her to return another day.

We grabbed some maps and set off for the main attraction – Peppa Pig World. We had told TBT where we were going during the car journey but she didn’t really understand until she saw the Peppa signs in the park.

Rides at Peppa Pig World

The beauty of Peppa Pig World is that children of all ages can go on all the rides.

As a consequence the whole place is one big buggy park. But that’s great because it means everyone is having fun rather than taking it it turns to stand around like lemons.

We had a go on Windy Castle and Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride, we visited Peppa’s house, played at Mr Potato’s Adventure Playground and had a ride on Grandpa Pig’s train.

Meet and greets with Peppa

The highlight for TBT was the meet and greet with Peppa and George.

Her eyes lit up, she waved and shouted their names, and had a few impatient tears (banging her head on my camera didn’t help). It was a small taster of the excitement that I think we’re going to experience this Christmas.

What we liked about Peppa Pig World

  • We didn’t have to queue for more than 20 minutes for anything (it was a Sunday out of school holidays)
  • TBT’s face was a picture the entire day – she was over the moon to be there
  • There are toilets outside the park for quick wee stops before and after your visit
  • The whole park was really clean.

More toddler-friendly activities and rides at Paultons Park

After we’d had our fill of Peppa (and the theme tune being on loop), Mr TB took TBT on Wave Runner, which she also loved.

To calm things down a bit on our slow walk out of the park we had a go on the train and the Victorian Carousel.

To end our day we had a walk around the gardens and aviaries. This is the part of Paultons Park that I remember from my childhood. They have some really interesting birds that I haven’t seen anywhere else.

What’s the best age for Peppa Pig World?

Tot was three and Baby was six-months-old when we visited Peppa Pig World. Tot absolutely loved it but Baby obviously had no idea what was going on – lol!

However it was an easy day out to do with both of them. Baby could come on all the rides as there were no height restrictions.

Check the latest ride height restrictions at Peppa Pig World.

There are many more height restrictions in the main Paulton’s Park theme park but when you have young kids there’s more than enough to fill your day.

When is Peppa Pig World open?

Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World are open daily during the school holidays and weekends.

Check the website for opening times in the low season as the park shuts down in the week.

Where is Peppa Pig World?

Peppa Pig World is part of the Paulton’s Park them park which is located near Romsey in Hampshire.

The closest city is Southampton where you can find plenty more things to do with kids of all ages.

All in all we loved Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park. There was a lot more to see than we could fit into one day and our friends have bought a season ticket so they can return.

Look at her face! So happy - your post brought back a lot of memories of our trip. We don't have quite such a smile photo with peppa and George...

My daughter has recently become obsessed with Peppa, so no doubt she'd love this, but it's a bit far for us unfortunately x
