We had a bit of rain and sunshine at the weekend. But being the hardened caravanners that we are, it didn’t stop us having a good time and exploring our latest destination – West Sussex.

We were staying at Orchard Farm, a Camping and Caravan Club site near Bosham. As you’d expect from the name, it’s a pretty site with apple trees dotted around the pitches; some of which have electric hook up if you like your creature comforts.
There were strolls by the harbour for Tin Box Dog, the Bosham Inn was just a few minutes walk away for Mr TB, and the boutique shops of Chichester were a short drive away for me. Everyone was happy. The only minor downside to the site was the large number of caravans in storage alongside the pitches. As strange as it might sound coming from a caravanner, this detracted from the attractiveness of the site.
We were rallying with the Caravan Club’s West Hampshire Centre and, as always, entertainment was laid on. The Centre gazebos were the venue for a cheese and wine night with a quiz.

The drinks flowed and the cheese helped to keep us sober enough to answer some of the questions. It was C. J. Lewis who wrote The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, right? Er, maybe I got that answer tiny bit wrong.
During the day we made a trip into Chichester for a look around the shops. I love Chichester’s mix of small retailers, coffee shops and independent stores. We have a favourite cafe that we stop at on most occasions we are in town – The Buttery at the Crypt on South Street. It’s worth taking the pushchair down a few steps inside for the atmosphere and good food.
